Latrell Peeks ordered “no contact” after hitting Dominique Sharpton
The hulking boyfriend of the Rev. Al Sharpton’s daughter was released without bail Thursday after being accused of smacking her during an argument earlier this week.
Latrell Peeks, who is 6-foot-7 and weighs 230 pounds, was arraigned in Manhattan Criminal Court on assault and harassment charges.
The 23-year-old ex-jock struck Dominique Sharpton on Tuesday and then forced her out of a car, Manhattan prosecutors said.
“It’s a lot of lies, my grandson wasn’t raised that way,” said Peeks’ grandmother, Loeva Jenkins. “He wouldn’t hit a woman, much less his lady.”
Dominique Sharpton, 23, was treated for a cut lip at Harlem Hospital.
Peeks’ mom, Jewel Gomez, downplayed Sharpton’s trip to the hospital.
“She had a very small cut on her lip,” she said.
Peeks was ordered to have no contact with Sharpton. A judge warned him he’d be tossed in jail if he violates the order. He is due back in court March 24.
